We are doing upgrades to the search feature. What would you like to see incorporated? Is there anything special you would like to see the search do for visitors?

Anything you think goguides should start offering?

All feedback is very much appreciated.

The little people rating is given at the initial site review- if you add new features and additional content, it would be nice to be able to ask for a rating review to see if you merit more little people.

For example, one of my sites was just an online catalog when it was first listed and now it contains a guide to starting your business, calculators, a forum, and a lot more helpful information.

It would be nice as sites evolve to be able to have that recognized!

Are you guys associated with Gigablast? I see their url at the bottom of the page... just curious!

>be able to ask for a rating review

Like a little button on the public side where people can click and request a review for a higher rating? That sounds like a good idea. This will be considered in the upgrade.

>Are you guys associated with Gigablast?

Depends on what you mean by associated. We link to gigablast, but beyond that, I have no comment.

With a search, it appears as if your results generally come up in some sort of alphabetical order as opposed to true relevancy. I think that needs to be tweaked.

Did you guys get any surge in traffic after the SES Dallas conference? I mentioned you in my submitting to directories presentation, along with JoeAnt, Gimpsy and Zeal. I'll be doing a speech in SouthDakota in Jan. where I'll be mentioning everyone once again!

Hmmm, when searching the directory the keyword is pulled from all descriptions within the database and then 3 ppl rated sites are listed first followed by 2, then 1 ppl rated sites. It is then listed in order by rating then by site in alphabetical order.

Not sure how well we can mix returns based on keyword relevance in the 3 ppl sites. For example, search using the keyword “people’. Notice 3 ppl rated sites are all listed first with the keyword “people” highlighted in each description? We give 3 ppl rated sites more relevance then 2 ppl rated sites. We also include keyword topic matches at the top once the search is preformed. Notice this search (people) returned three topics with the keyword “people” in the path.

Also notice all the different topics listed under the site descriptions that were returned in the search. Even though the topic didn’t match, the search does include the topic path on every result shown.

>Did you guys get any surge in traffic after the SES Dallas conference?

Hard to say cause we get surges in traffic all the time. Unless they click a link are leave a message on the survey we have no way of knowing what caused the surge.

>I mentioned you in my submitting to directories presentation...

Thank you, it appears you do have a very strong following because our submission survey has repeatedly noted webmasters being referred from articles you have written.

>I'll be doing a speech in SouthDakota in Jan. where I'll be mentioning everyone once again!

Thank You! If there is any questions you would like us to answer for that up coming speech just drop us a questionnaire. Someone on staff will get it back to you by the specified deadline you give.

Hi

Is there any way you could incorporate an email notification when a site has been added?

How about blocking spider access to the editor's personal info (like e-mail address)?
