1. Since i have noticed that keywords in URL kontribute to the ranking in Yahoo, i wonder whether i can avoid buying a new URL with keywords in it, by placing my site into a directory named with all the wanted keywords ?
example :
www.abc.com/keyword1-keyword2-keyword3-keyword4/index.html
2. How does targeted keyword appearance in the name of the Yahoo category affect my ranking ?
for example if i have a site that is optimized for keyword "apples", does a place in Food/fruit and vegetable/apples affect my ranking score ?

hey the ney, ... you are better off to buy a domain. Much easier and you will rank better.

There's a good chance that Yahoo will not add your site to the directory if you're not using the top level domain name and only using a sub directory. If your top level domain has nothing to do with your business and is a different business all together, it's possible that they would add your inner directory page if that's the actual web site URL. However, if you're simply doing it as a *trick* to improve rankings, Yahoo will see right through your plan and you'll lose your $199 in the blink of an eye.

Can you explain why will i rank better with a keyword rich domain, rather than with a keyword rich directory name ? I cant see the difference...
Also, what if i dont have anything in my root domain? Of course i am doing it for ranking optimization, but i dont see why would Yahoo tell me how to organize my site ?

If the main page of your site is in a subdirectory, and it's a worthwhile site, Yahoo probably will add you (for their fee). It gets tricky if you're just trying to submit a subpage of your site. They tend to prefer the main front page of a site.
