Hi,

Just wondering if anyone could help me with the following question:

Do search engines find a web site with the search "car" if the site is optimized (meta tags and text) for "cars"?

Whilst some search engines treat singular and plural as the same, some do not. As Google treats them differently I would optimise both words seperately - as we all know Google Rules! (At the moment);)

Google and most of the other popular search engines have different results for singular and plural versions of words.

Also, 'car' is a very, very competitive keyword phrase to optimise for - Google currently shows 57,800,000 web pages for this keyword!

You may be better off trying to optimise for more specific terms related to cars! :)

Thanks for the info - I used "car" as an example and wouldn´t try to optimize for that word!

As the others have said, you have to use your keywords exactly as you'd like them to rank high with. That includes the order of the words, plurals, ing-endings, different spellings-- i.e., t-shirt and tshirt.

Good luck!
