I bought that Web Position **** 2 software about a month ago and submitted my site to all possible search engines. It has been almost 5 weeks and it seems that only fast (powering lycos and alltheweb) has spidered and indexed my site. My question is at this point in time is it a good idea to resubmit my site to all the other search engines that did not spider me? Thank in advance.

welcome jahu :hi:

i would advise you to use that automated software at your own risk, I have a few suggestions with what you can do for your site manually.

Consider submitting your site to directories which are crawled by all the major search engine robots(thus ensuring your site will get crawled in a fairly quick time.)

They are:

JoeAnt - http://www.joeant.com/
Goguides - http://www.goguides.org/
Dmoz - http://www.dmoz.org/

You may also wish to do a link exchange with similar themed sites of yours.

Once listed in one of the above directories you really wouldn't need to submit to any of the major search engines, as they will follow off the directory listed link to your site.

nuthin is right. If you have no links to your site, then it is not going to get good search engine results, however many times you submit it. If you have good links to your site, then there is no need to submit to search engines.

The only exception to this is Inktomi, which is unreliable at indexing sites unless you use their paid inclusion option.

In the case of directories like Looksmart (which powers MSN), then you have to pay to be included.

Welcome to the forums JGirl! :hi:

If you put your site url into a post in here, then that is a "link" to your site.
