Hi !
I've been reading the forums here for a few weeks and have learned a lot from everyone. Now, I have question. I have ad campaign that is getting a click through rate of 1.1 to 2.5% over the last 2 months. Just began it 2 mo. ago. Google just sent me an email saying :

Because ad quality and relevancy help improve the user experience and ultimately the effectiveness of your ads, we require that your campaigns and keywords maintain a certain minimum clickthrough rate (CTR) for every 1,000 ad impressions delivered. Our records indicate that your ad campaigns and some of your keywords fall below our requirement.

There FAQ says you need roughly a 0.5% to 1.0% click through rate.

So, why am I getting this email from them? Since in my understanding, I think I'm maintaining the CTR they request for an ad campaign.

So Google is suggesting I edit my campaign to improve my standing with them or risk them stopping my ad all together. I've already sent them an email, but I wanted to see if any of you may be able to shed some light on this for me.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.:hi:

Welcome to the forums Barb! :hi:

Does your campaign include more than one keyword phrase? If so, maybe you have many keyphrases and a few of them do not get the minimum percent? They want 'all' keyphrases to be above the certain percent and if one or two do not reach that, the email goes out. This is what I understand anyway. :)

I have only 1 phrase - "world flags".

I received the following reply from Google:

Thank you for your email. It is possible that your ad was not performing well on Google alone, however its overall performance is very strong. I'd recommend restoring full delivery - it should resume normal performance after that is done.

So, I'm restoring full delivery on my ad and will see what happens from this point forward. Time will tell.

Is there a way to determine hits from Google vs. hits from the partners?

Thanks,

MC

As I am sure you are aware, if they (and you) do the same 'exercise' few more time - you will have to PAY for restoring delivery. My very limited experince with them shows a remarkable lack of precision in their measurement technique. Interesting how things will develop. Keep us posted :)
