Our shopping trolley system is currently in a MYSQL database. If we have a price change on one of our products, the price needs changing in the database and then again on the websites, we have a number of websites that take from the same database. This is ok for one price change but if there are quite a few it can be time consuming. Does anyone know how or where I can find the info on how to automatically update dreamweaver from the MYSQL database or have an idea on how I can do this easily.
My initial thought was some sort of importing routine but I am unsure how to do this. I am using Dreamweaver Mx and i can see that you can import CSV files into tables but I can't see how to do this to multiple pages.
I would be grateful for any help or advice.
cheers

Hi:
Is there some reason you aren't updating the pricing with dymanic pages? That's why Macromedia merged UltraDev into Dreamweaver. The two main interfaces are ODBC or JDBC, there are drivers for both of these DB interfacesfor MYSQL. You also have to choose your middleware, ASP, JSP, PHP, CF, .NET are all supported.

We haven't used dynamic pages becuase our ISP are not very good with them. We live in a monopoly area and have no choice with ISP.

Hi:
There are utilities that come with the standard MYSQL package to export the db to a cvs format. Check the MYSQL docs and web site.

The world is big (and small), i live in sweden and hosting in both US and Australia. I don't like the hostpackages the swedish companies give, and it's cheaper to host in US or Australia becouse it's more competition.

Hi Louise, :hi:
I need to know more information about your office set up before I can help you, i.e. where your databases are set up and how you access them.
Also if you are not using a dynamic site you are really doing it the hard way. I would suggest you find a good hosting company that offers some sort of scripting capability to create a dynamic site, you could get a good virtual one for as little as $15/month depending on how big your site is.
cheers
