Gator coughed up some bucks to shut up those companies. How pathetic is that? They did not want to go to trial in fear that they would lose and there would then be a precedent set for other trials.

I actually scarf at the Washington Post, NYTimes, etc for letting Gator off so easily and with a 'payoff' to keep quiet.

I also see that United Parcel Service has a suit pending as well. GO UPS!!!!!! Go the full mile and don't let Gator buy you off!

An interesting development:
The Gator online advertising network recently started testing a new paid search product that lets rivals poach on each other's territory. The product, called Search Scout, triggers a pop-under window when Gator members search on a site such as Google or Yahoo. The window lists search results tied to keywords purchased through competing search services.
Very good. I hope Gator goes through with putting popups on Google. I don't think Google will stand for it at all. Does Google know this is now being tested by Gator?

They can't really afford to keep buying people off. If the terms of the settlement are "Gator coughs up a bag of cash and stops showing ads on these sites," they are in deep dookey.
