Does anyone get referrals from MetaCrawlers? Which ones if you do get some referrals.

We occasionally get a few, but never enough to amount to anything substantial.

Yes, not many at all. The name escapes me now... but it ends in a z. That's the only one I see referrals from. :)

I see Dogpile referrals pretty frequently. Not a lot of them, but a few each month.

Dogpile and Ixquick are the two I see the most from.

Why does Dogpile seem to bring results?

Because your are optimized for Google and Dogpile shows results from Google?

Actually, the Dogpile results I seem to get are Texis-based, from Thunderstone's Web Site Catalog (http://go2net.thunderstone.com/texis/websearch/)

Most of my Dogpile referrals are backfill Overture results (ie: inktomi). I see a few referrals from Mamma and Excite (does that count as a meta-search ?) also.

One of my interests in the meta world is whether the absence or presence of Google makes a difference to these guys. It is difficult to obtain permission to use Google as a meta-crawler and I wondered if that is adversly affecting the meta world?

OR whether they do just as well with Inktomi?

Or whether Google matters to these guys at all?

Like those people using FAST -- would they notice at all? Are they not as competitive by searching FAST and others instead of Google?

Ixquick, Mamma, and at times, Dogpile. Ixquick has been increasing over the last couple of months.
