So how comes I can knock up a site in five minutes and submit it to Google and get them listed fine. And the editor on one of the sites i did in five minutes was the competition! Yet my beautifully crafted site that i've been working on for over five years with it's numerous links across the net and free yahoo and looksmart listings etc never gets listed (that's when they eventually get round dealing with it and never look at more than one page).

Newriver,

I was having a general whinge because it seemed the case that sites of my that I would have expected not to get in did and a site that by all rights should have got in has never been checked properly. However, to prove me wrong - they have come and had a good look at my site today so fingers crossed...however, if it doesn't get in then I'm never visiting their search engine ever ever again :)

Spiderman - you've given us hope!

We are a well-established intenet-based company, with several pages, nicely done, especially our main page. However, ODP chose to list one of our least traffic sites, almost irrelevant to the grand scheme of things. It seems you experienced this to some degree - but in time, they did take note of the site you really hoped to make it.

What was your general strategy? In what way did you submit your sites? i.e. 1 every few months, a few a day . . . ?? Do you have multiple sites that you attemped to have listed?

Any further insight into this subject would be greatly appreciated!
