I don't think you can do that with Overture. I cannot wait until Overture makes their bed-buddy Gator full-time. When they do, all their advertisers can then be associated with SCUMware. There will not be a thing they can do about it except to stop dealing with Overture. LOL

LookQuick Search Engine offers advertisers this exclusive feature.

This tool allows you to filter your traffic and choose which geographic location you would like to target. For example, if your business is located in California, and only serve US ONLY or US and CA, we at lookQuick feel you should not pay for visitors from England who clicks on your link. In this case you would targeted US only traffic or US and CA. This is just another feature we added to maximize advertisers ROI. This feature can easily be enabled by contacting support and requesting the countries you would like to block or allow.

Each account can be fully customizes to fit your advertising needs.

LookQuick.com is proud to have this feature on board.

In regards to geographically targeting via Overture, I recommend purchasing keywords that contain your geographical location or locations where you offer your good or service.

Plus, these keywords are very inexpensive. Sure you'll receive only a fraction of your possible clicks, but you can assure yourself the visitors you do get will be solid, warm leads.

Buying the keyword "belgian widgets" will definitely keep the French away! :D

Sorry but I don't understand this post. Is it not ok to advertise with Overture for some reason? Because in your view 'they are greedy'?

Overture gives us the best and highest conversions that have surpassed Google. Even ContentSprinks is slowly matching conversions on Google for us.

You hope that advertisers like us should become associated with scumware and be forced to stop dealing with Overture and lose on the great conversions we get at the moment? Why would you wish ill on advertisers like us?

I just don't get it.

Here's a trick that might help.

I have one client in California who sells an item that cannot be economically shipped great distances. I mention in their PPC ads that they're based in California -- hoping that users get the hint and figure out that they won't want to pay shipping to Maine, and so avoid clicking.

BTW, Overture's rules on targeting are a little wacky. For example, if you serve the whole country, but you don't specifically mention on your site that you serve a particular major city in that country, they won't let you advertised on "keyword in City X".

Hey polarmate, Not at all. Didn't you hear? They are 'testing' out Gator, the scumware company. You can bet your bottom dollar if they pick Gator up full time that your ROI will Greatly decrease in a big way. Not to mention the fact that when your listing shows up on Gator, many don't like scumware, so obviously any site listed with Gator is associated with them.

I don't think you would think that's a good thing.

If and when Overture did decide to implement Gator, I would like to bet they would have an opt out feature similar to the Google AdWords option of opting out of their contextual ads.

I don't think anyone answered the original question, so:

Google does allow targeting by country. It is the first selection you have to make when creating an ad.
