Our site has got an ODP listing today! :drink:

We are absolutely happy with that and since the caategory has PR5 we expect some Google improvement next month.

But they placed http://damain.com link instead of http://www.domain.com . I still have my chance to send a "Thank you" letter and possibly ask to add "www." Do you think it should be done or it doesn't make any difference and will still be counted as a backlink for http://www.domain.com ? (btw, most of our backlinks from other sites point to www. version)

Congrats Nazareth!

Our listing in DMOZ is sans the www. - I wrote to the editor stating my reasons. The editor was kind enough to consider my listing in the first place as there was a bit of controversy as to how it was the same site as another one of our sites. She did not make the change however and I did not want to push my luck so I did not remind her. Google was showing the DMOZ listing as a backward link by the next update even though the Google Directory was not updated. Now that the Google Directory has been updated, we're wondering when that listing will show up as a backward link.

So, Google has been able to resolve the listing in DMOZ without the "www." and very quickly at that. I still however like to maintain consistency for all links within my control and use the "www." - just to be on the safe side.

Uhm, our position in Google did not change though:(

I haven't had experience with that but as far as I know it really doesn't matter!
