The index page, the gallery entry page, and some other pages were updated and put online on March 11. Google indexed these pages on March 16, and these newly indexed pages are turning up in search results, some of them for the first time. Here are a few examples from today's (Mar 17) tracker:

paintings art work, rank 4-5 out of 1,290,000 results
google paintings, rank 1-2 of 69,300
belgium art work, rank 1-2 of 519,000

I have never seen such a quick turnaround time. Is a 5-day period unusual? what is the explanation? what are others experiencing?

Thanks for any insight -- :eyes: pun intended!

They are getting faster!

Are you actually getting any traffic from those keywords? They don't look at all like ones real people would be searching for in the engines.

I agree Jill, they do not look like good keywords -- and also -- let me add my bit, they do not even look good memewords, or branding words to market virally.

This seems to me almost a false sense of wowserism. Yes, these got listed in 5 days, some sites experience faster, but are people actually going to get there?

I would be interested to see if you are getting any traffic yet as well!!

Yes, in my post, they were actual search terms used by real people.

Here are some more examples of actual search terms taken from the tracker during the last week or so, and the results from Google:

realistic woman paintings -- 16/26,800
all artists names -- 4-5/1,060,000
galina model -- 16/9,820
international artists -- 6-7/2,290,000
links to the unusual -- 29/1,820,000
how eyes work -- 28-29/3,970,000
paintings and language -- 6/496,000
n u d e art work -- 11-12/341,000 [n u de must be a forbidden word? comes up in preview mode as * * * *]
india images -- 23-24/1,160,000
art work -- 46-47/6,330,000

The tracker shows a total of 6,266 keywords to date. I do not have information on how often the search terms are used, or repeated. "Realistic woman paintings" probably won't show up again!

The main keywords or key phrases are in the tag line at the top of the homepage, and one or more are usually included in the title tag, but I do not have any summary information on how often the main search terms are used or repeated.

The tracker shows a total of 6,266 keywords to date, ranked by number and percentage. Included in the top ten search words are eyes, n u d e, paintings, images, artwork, google, and gallery.

As to traffic, the website averages about 2,000 visitors a day. Yahoo has no worries, but in the art work field, with millions of pages, my themed niche is doing well. I am self-taught and not a website professional, and the website is a non-commercial hobby.

Jill, I have subscribed to your newsletter since the Jill and Heather days and it has been the main source of what I have learned about SEO. I attribute much of the website ranking success to your newsletter, and of course thanks to Google for crawling all over. :eyes:
