There seems to be MASS confusion as to what the title of this thread truly is and to go further, there seems to be confusion about how a site can have multiple listings in Looksmart under a BUNCH of search terms.

Now, how about the members here. Do we all know what this is all about in Looksmart? Obviously, other places do not have a clue about this.

Anyone?

Doug,

I'm not sure I understand your question. Do you mean how do sites get multiple listings? For commercial sites, the only way to have sub-sites listed is by paying for submission. Sub-sites can be just inside pages, a directory, or a third-level domain.

If you are willing to fork over between $149-$299 per sub-site you want listed, the process is relatively easy. They will not, however, accept more than 5 paid submissions from one site. At that point, you have to subscribe to their pay-per-click service with minimum monthly requirements.

Yes. Thank you.

You can submit up to 5 pages of your site. In addition, those 5 pages can be submitted to any number of different categories that could possibly fit.

Further, I do not think that any one site would be limited to 5 pages. I do think as long as the fee is paid, you could submit a few more.

Bottom line is that there are a number of reasons why a site could be taking up a few positions on a keyword phrase. The LookListings program could be added in there as well. So, a site could legitimately take up to 20-30 positions on a phrase if done correctly.

I am not sure about paid listings to Looksmart, but submitting non commercial sites to Looksmart through Zeal will allow you to (as far as I can see) get as many pages of 1 site listed as you want. My 1 non commerial site currently has 5 pages listed in Looksmart now, and I am planning on adding a whole bunch more. I'll let you know if I ever get to a point where they start to limit me.
