http://google-yahoo.com/

I have just completed this study based on observing the stats of
about 100 of my sites on Yahoo Google Aol.

This is my result of how a Yahoo listing can sometimes harm someone.

I compared keyphrases click - thru rates and search queries from complete sets of stats.

It is just easier to offer the URL that this long piece was posted on than to paste and format it all over again.

I am sure this will be very very helpful to everyone. :cheers:

it's not a post, Doug, it's an ad for his site - he wants free iBLs for his site from this forum

PR0 can be a brand new site.

This reply is only to Doug since the all the rest were so vile and obnoxious ( do I make remarks about the site promotions and links constantly under everyones' posts)

comparing the results on the effects of websites I was personally involved in creating and how a Yahoo listing can hurt someone on the Yahoo Search

How a Looksmart listing can hurt someone on Msn was the only intent.

After Looking at thousands of referrer logs and search queries, I just illustrated the conclusion on a personal non profit site and shared the concerns publically.

knowing this I was hoping everyone would pitch-in and come up with pro-active strategies to share

What a rude vicious crowd! what's the use!?

aaaaa,

A forum is for discussing something not for advertising. In the course of a discussion you are quite at liberty to point to pages of your own or anyone else's to illustrate you point.

A discussion takes the following format and Doug was trying to get you to participate in the forum:

1. Introduce a topic you want to talk about and seek other people's responses;

2. Be on hand to add and contribute to the development of the discussion;

3. Introduce ideas, thoughts, links and other items that will aid people to understand what you researched and which people can interrogate you about in the discussion;

4. Be nice -- mostly --

This was we get a successful forum where everyone learns!! How about let us start again and discuss what it is you have discovered?

I would like to understand, but I am not going to click to the site you mention until I get a sense of what it is that you are presenting and have discovered!!

We better celebrate!! :cheers: Again!!

You know, half the time I agree with you but have dug myself into a hole and to keep the conversation going I try to bolster my unholy opinion!! Although every now and then I weaken and say something like "I know I was wrong, but you were wronger!"

All in a day's fun of learning through forum discussion!! Thanks anyway for being a great sport.

Now let us see if we can lure aaaaa into a good discussion!!

:D

So, aaaaa, it might be really interesting to know why do you think that "Yahoo listing can sometimes harm someone"?

This subject might be of a great interest for many readers, but you'd better tell us about your research in few words and maybe answer questions, so that we could know if your site is worth visiting.
Please give a brief intro :hi:

Well, I don't know what's going on but I do Not see any link that aaaaa posted except for the yahoo link. Where is his link to his site? AND, why can't I see it? LOL

What the hey!

But yes, you should give a brief summary of your findings aaaaa. That would be a big help, especially for people like me of which the link you posted is invisible for some damn reason. Are you all pulling my leg? Did he post his link or is the link deleted now? I'm confused.... :confused:

Really Doug? Must be the color. Must blend in with your forum settings.

It's google-yahoo.com which is why I said he might be frowned upon by Google and Yahoo.

Well, he should have bookmarked that section on his site or posted the section here. Posting the URL to search through was in bad taste.

However, *his* point or opinion was:

Yahoo uses "collapsed" G results. The descriptions for those G-generated results are from the Yahoo submitted (or edited) listings, so there could be cases where a relatively keyword-poor description could give you a worse referral rate than straight G results.

No, there is just a blank space where I guess his url is. I cannot see anything there at all. Very strange.

Please just forget about the url and post - this is more trouble that it is worth.

One poster had the nerve to post

"Be nice -- mostly --".

Just judging from some of the discource - it seems like some of you hate each other, or only post to insult and patronize others.

I truly hope none of you meanies respond to any of MY posts again (who needs it?).

People who post their business url under each post - should not feel compelled to advised ...

"A forum is for discussing something not for advertising. "

If I chose to put up a site to post some updated info with no purpose other than to keep a running total of my findings
and updates that is my decision - just DONT click on it.

who cares?

this much easier than typing pasting and formating - and this is what I want to do.

If a site is not promoted and is just for personal research - of course it will have a PR0.

I have several sites with PR9 and PR8
but they serve another purpose.

(has it gotten to the point where THAT is what people do - look and comment on PRs of sites)

Those of you who thrive on rudeness and confrontation - please... do not respond to any of my POSTs nor Click on any of my links.

I truly want to avoid those types of people ... life is just too short.
