Hi all.

Need help. I am starting to do ne forms of optimization, atleast they are new to me. and I have 2 questions to ask.

1: I am using a <noscript> tag to hide content on the site. It almost looks like spamming to me but is it really and can this cause serious problems on search engines for my site?

2: "gateway pages" for those who don't know these are content and key word rich page that I would use to submit to search engines containing keword links and lots of body content with keywords. Are these page a good thing to use or a bad thing.

Please help me before its too late.

These may be used with great success, but if I say use it, i recommend not to abuse it. Dont be deceptive or too agressive. It is a question of balance.

Welcome to the forums Nexus-Ex :hi:

Use <noscript> tags for the purpose they were designed and you should not have a problem ... remember that people whose browsers have JavaScript disabled will see what the search engine sees.

There is another thread currently discussing doorway/gateway pages (http://www.ihelpyouservices.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=8283)

I am doing hard research and I am getting mixed feeling aboot the 2 questions.

however can a site still rank well without these 2 items or can they be a major factor in your ranking

A website can perfectly rank without doorways if well written and content rich. It is the best way to go.
Doorway are just an alternative solution to overcome difficulties, not a magical technique.
