Hi all.
We had some Google Adwords which seemed to be quite successful. However, literally overnight, the Adwords disappeared. Now, I realise that we were probably outbidded, but we should still be at least at the bottom of the list? The account shows that we have only used half the amount of money allocated, so why are they not showing up?
Apologies if it is obvious, I am new to Google Adwords :(

I had this same fear for a moment when I first started AdWords. I am not sure how popular your search terms are, but if there are more than 8 people bidding for the terms they continue on the next page. So, if you are #9 you are the first ad on the second page.
Have you checked at the second and third pages for your ads?

Hi JohnC,
Yer, we checked all the pages that came up in the search. It was really strange - on Friday, we checked that all our Adwords were visible and yet today, we don't show up at all. :(

If I am stating the obvious, I apologize. Just trying to help and I don't know what you do or do not know. :)
Have you checked to make sure the ads are still active? You should have received an email if the AdWords staff deactivated any of your ads. You can double check by looking at the details for your ad groups. Any deactivated ads will be noted under the ad itself.
Here's something you can do to double check your ad status. Go to one of your ad groups and pick an ad. Edit the keywords to include a term no one or very few people would buy as a keyword(I have used my name). then do a search on this term. It will at least tell you if the ads are able to displayed in the search results.

Sounds like your daily spending cap is limiting the number of impressions. Check your campaign settings to make sure that your daily limit is not too low. Google uses an algorithm to spread your ads exposure out over the 24 hours in a day to try and meet your spending limit. If you experience a high CTR, your ad's exposure may start getting limited if your daily cap is too low.

JohnC, no please be as basic as you can, as I am definitely green when it comes to Adwords. What you stated was something worth mentioning as initally we didn't check every page. ;)
Bernard, I will take your comments on board and check out these issues.
Thank you for your help.
