Hi! I have website which shows ranking but not for targeted keywords.
If I redesign the site/page for targeted keywords can I resubmit the same page which has been already listed by search engine.
Let me clearify my site is listed but I want the same page to rank higher but for different keywords.Would the search engines accept this page as that page(old design) is already listed in their database.

Yes you can resubmit the same page but I wouldn't suggest that you do so for the reasons that you are stating.
All search engines send out their 'spiders' on a regular basis and will detect any changes you make to the content of those pages that are already within their search listings.
All you need do is adjust your content on the respective page(s) to target your keywords and keyphrases, then sit back and wait for the spiders to come to you.
There really is no reason to submit your site more than once.
Interestingly, I just visited a site that was offering "Free submission for a year." Given that you only need submit once, it isn't hard to see how they manage to make this "free" offer is it? :D
Best of luck.

Sound advice!~ Most crawling engines will re-spider a page once it is included in the index. The time frame may vary by engine and priority, but when the engines are ready the spider will revisit and re-index the page. At this point the new keywords and content will be read and indexed.
