Write them a letter here:

I blasted them and could care less that it will not get published there. They will read it anyway and get the point.

These so-called article writers who have NO clue have no business writing about things they know nothing about.

I have always tried to contact reporters directly when responding to syndicated columns like Husted and his "Tech Buddy" http://www.ajc.com/business/content/business/0403/27tecbud.html column, which is written for the Atlanta Journal Constitution. This article was syndicated by the Cox News Service and distributed across the country. That's the annoying part to me, that now people across the country have reinforced their views that SEO's are dishonest and unethical. What I want is for Husted and others to understand that their misconceptions are based on old information.

That link I gave in my article to the Google "Information for webmasters" page on SEO does the same thing by referring to a Salon article that trashes SEO firms by telling all about a defunct company that used lies and intimidation to make money fleecing web based businesses. http://www.salon.com/tech/feature/2002/07/01/spyware_inc/index.html Note the date within the URL there, which is from a year ago and they are talking about even older stuff in this historical look back at a goner company.

Husted was just spouting here, as columnists tend to do. The annoying thing is that it is stated as fact that search engine marketers are purlely hucksters and con men while complaining about something he heard from trusted sources. My email to his trusted source, Naveen Donthu http://www.gsu.edu/~mktnnd/ , went unanswered as well. Maybe because he wishes he hadn't said something so silly as he did. "The idea is a simple one - "to fool the search engine and get higher on the list."

Ah well! I've done my own steam release now. I'm just glad there is a place like ihelpyou forums to do it.
