When do bots start visiting?

Hi...I'm wondering how long it takes for bots to start crawling a site. I have a new site (about a week & a half) and I don't see in my log files that any bots have visited. Should I be worried?

FYI, I've submitted it to Google, AltaVista, JoeAnt, paid for inclusion to Lycos, and already have quite a few backlinks.

Give it at least a month, sometimes longer. Not much you can do except continue to get good inbound links.

Thanks Scottie :) I was hoping that was the case although I was thinking it happened sooner with my last site. Who knows...maybe it's just that I'm just more anxious to get this one listed. LOL

It definitely can happen sooner than that- just depends on where the bots find your link and when they decide to follow it. I wouldn't worry about it for a while.
