Hello All,

I have been searching for my answer and thought I would post. I hope you folks can help end my suffering.

http://www.sandlermercer.com

This site has had a drop in pagerank from 3 to 2 and lost it's backward links in the toolbar. We have been online for over 3 years and although we had limited backward links, they did show up in the past. I am trying to build their backward links up but want to solve this problem first.

My host has http://sandlermercer.com (no www in address) as the main site with a server side redirect on the http://www.sandlermercer.com address. Obviously both addresses are the same sight so a visitor will find us with or without the www. My thought is that Google may think this is a duplicate site (although the server side redirect should fix this). I used a little trick in Google that let me see if maybe I have been banned and found that the two addresses have different numbers of backward links. ("+www.sandlermercer.+com" and "+sandlermercer.+com")
Almost like they were two different sites?? Is this normal?

Could this be my problem? I opened a AdWord campaign two months ago around the time my free listings disappeared. I know it must just be a coincidence.

The site has no spam and I am at a loss as to why there are no backward links and we don't rank well for anything anymore. I even added alot of new content a couple of months ago, and it did not do a thing.

I have read this problem from other web designers, but we don't know if it is a bug in the algo, or something we just haven't figured out yet.

Any help on this mystery would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forums Laura! :hi:

Please read all the threads in here about the 'dance'. Patience.

Thanks for the welcome.

Acutally I went and checked all three servers at Google. They look similar for my searches and Google was quick to pick up my new design over two months ago. Still when I search on www.sandlermercer.com and sandlermercer.com there are a different number of links in the www2 and www3 for one of the urls. Also should I be seeing internal pages as well?? Not sure about that. I can only see two pages listed for the site.

I thought maybe a dance or two would fix the problem but May is dance number three and by looking at the servers, it looks to be the same old same old for me.

I am still suspecting the the http://sandlermercer.com and the http://www.sandlermercer.com is a problem. Besides waiting for yet another dance :-)

I am hoping that someone has also experienced this and can shed some light.

You obviously have not taken the time to read the other threads here. WWW2 & 3 are using 2 month old data right now. Follow Doug's advise and you will learn more about it.
