Hi All,

I thought I would write my thoughts on this, as I see many ppl confuse what sort of advice you will get here, so here is a run down of some major SEO forums, and what eacj has to offer:

IHelpYouServices (HERE):
Good at: Getting good quality, spam free advice. This forum is full of honest (to a fault sometimes) ppl who will take time to help a Newbie. You wont get shot down in flames here, and ppl will be cuteous and often extremely quick in responding.
Not so Good at: Answering highly technical questions, some examples of which include spider UA, IP addresses, freshbot, everflux and other (spam related) stuff. Better to go for webmasterworls for that.
Stay away if: You are a spammer. You wont find help here, and you will basically be wasting your time.

Well, that is all MY two cents worth. I am off 2 bed. Night all.

(hey PHP, we don't wish to discuss other fora in here anymore as it is not liked by others.. thanks. :) Doug )

FWIW, I would disagree with the comments about UA and spider protocals and some of the techy stuff. At least 2 mods have written their own spiders and a few run their own servers. I don't think those questions are asked much here so it seems like it is what you are describing when in actual fact it may be false. Misuse of UA protocals I generally wouldn't comment on because I would only be very negative.

Just my .02

Can someone really be honest to a fault? (I suppose like Jim Carey in Liar Liar?)

Like that SNL skit with Joe Montana as the honest guy roomate to Phil Hartman? That was funny.

"Oh no! Not him. He'll ruin everything!"

Gotta disagree with that. What if Google did the same thing? Did you know they run LookSmart PPC ads in premium listings? AND other bloging Companies stuff. think it is silly not to be able to comment on others. For many Newbies, and many ppl in general, it helps to know what sort of advice you are likely to get, and what its perspective is. In here, you get a very anti-spam view, at WMW, a very less moral or centric view. ppl need to know that...

AHHH, whatever, its just my 2cents worth anyway.

Hey, don't shoot me!! Tell that to the other damn fora.

We are one of the busier fora now. When we start talking about others, those others get upset. I hear about it. to solve that, no more discussing others. Rather simple really and not hard to understand. :)

Personally, I LOVE it when others discuss this place, whether good OR bad. All PR is great in my book and I strive to be controversial. :D Others don't feel that way however.

Serious???? SHEESH!!!! That is so bizarre!!! Like you said, all PR is good PR.

That annoys me a bit, there is SOOO much room not only for perspetives but also personality types. Surely there is plenty of room for EVERY forum, no??

Yes, I agree. But that's not the point. I've received a few emails the last two years telling me to delete this post or that thread, etc. Others simply don't want us to talk about them in here. I just don't want those emails anymore.

Now me, I've never emailed anyone if they are discussing this place... good or bad. I like it all. :)

Besides, in the context of your first post, members choose which fora are best for them anyway. Some contribute at lots of places. But most do have their favorite hangout because it's suitable for them.

Can you imagine me posting elsewhere? I don't think I fit in anywhere else. LOL

Quick question. Why do you spell forum - fora? Is this something new?

Getting back to the main question, I think all the search engine fora (now I am going to be using this word all day) have value. You should never rely only on one source of information, but in the end everyone makes their own judgment about what info they accept and what they reject.
