Hello!

Im in a bit of dilema, maybe you could help me with some answers to my questions.

When you shop online how many times do you add several of the same products to the cart?

If you see a list of products on a page with only a name, a short description and a small image and you have the option to add several items in a inputbox next to the add button, would you add several products that way or read more about the product before you bought it?

Do you prefer to write the amount of products you want to buy in an inputbox or click on an "add to cart" button several times to add more products?

It depends on the products. If I know a lot about them already, I don't need to read a description.

If it's something new or unusual, I nearly always go to the description page.

It's good to have both options available. :)

Yeah... Im thinking in this way:

You can add only one product at the time from the productlist
When you read the description of the product you can specify the amount in an inputbox.

Does it sound logic or would you always prefer to specify the amount in an inputbox?

I run a site where we sell paper money and coins. I allow the customer to add as many different items and quantities as they wish. Nothing more fustrating that trying to order 20 or 30 different items, and having to add them one at a time. Here is a link (http://www.kcshop.com/foreigncurrency) to a section of my site that makes it easy for them to order whatever they want, and what quantities they want.

I guess it would really depend on the product line that you are offering. If there is a good chance that your customers would order multiple items or multiple quantities I would set the site up to benefit them.

At very minimum, I would set it up so they could order whatever quantity they want, with a default of 1.

Best wishes.

Thanks Kelly and Scottie!

Your right, it depends on the products and if you have the option to choose how many products you want to add to the cart is the best. It gives more freedom and that's a good thing.
