Why aren't MSN Search and other engines not better following through with users, making results more productive?
Search engines have the opportunity to save users quiet a few clicks, notifying them of new relevant results for specific queries. Job sites have been doing so for a while. Users also often go to the same sites, looking for new content. Search engines know where we navigate and could monitor these changes for us. Shopping sites have started doing so monitoring price changes already.
What a great opportunity for search engines to establish that one-to-one marketing relationship, directly addressing users’ needs, and serve a relevant Google AdWord or Overture paid link in the notification email.
