Sites which are paying good money to be listed in this search results are now being presented in a Kanoodle frame!
First they make it practically impossible for affiliate sites to get listed in the search engine with their new guidelines and now they charge people for receiving traffic while still taking the top fifth of their screen.
Are they determined to drive advertisers away?
So sad. Kanoodle used to be good. Now the messageboards are full of people complaining about the changes...

When were they good?

We hardly get any referrals from Kanoodle. I think our account opening balance is as is - if there have been any clicks then it's usually us checking our tracking codes

I got almost 100 referrals in about 24 hours, for a search term that gets less than 30 clicks a day on Google Adwords. It was a real shock to discover that Kanoodle was more than 3 times as popular as Google.
I am not accusing Kanoodle of fraud, but open affiiate programs certainly invite folks to try and rip PPCs (and their advertisers) off.

...that's why you should never bid more than 3 cents with these second and third-ranking PPCSEs. Therefore, you don't lose as much to fraud.
We have thousands of 1 cent bids and get good traffic from Kanoodle, but it takes work.

Guess I'd rather just give my nickel to Google and not work so hard.

I know what you mean: it's a lot of headache finding reliable smaller search engines and then adding enough listings to make it worthwhile.
But it might be worth spreading the risk: that's why we use several PPCSEs. I've learnt from bitter experience not to put all my eggs in one basket. Overture have increased their rates by 1000% over the last two years, from 1 cents to 10 cents. I bet Google are going to hike up their rates pretty soon as well. That's what scares me.

I've also seen bids for .01 cent on kanoodle but I wasn't able to place any bids for under .05 cents. The test I ran with Kanoodle made me realize it was/is pure garbage.
