About and Google

Is it worth trying to get a site listed on About, if you already have a listing via Inktomi?

But the main question is, is it worth getting a listing on About to help boost Google rankings?

Personally, I'd say no.

I have listings in About that have never referred any traffic, nor do they show as a backlink in Google.

We get a *lot* of traffic from ContentSprinks and the conversions are third place to Google and Overture. Overture is slowly dropping off in terms of conversions and ContentSprinks seems to be doing better with each passing month. At 21 cents a click, it does get expensive as the clicks are high but then the conversions we are getting currently justify the expense. It makes sense for us as an average sale is over $200. It may not make sense for products that have a lower price range.

We have a link on About and that refers a lot of traffic by itself, too. It showed up as an iBL on Google but then we lost it again with the current algo changes.
