Length of title and meta tags

Hello,

What is a good rule of thumb for length of the Title tag and meta tag description and number of meta keywords? I saw some recommendations at Scrub the web (they ahve a Neta Tag Analyzer) wondered if they were applicable across the top engines/spiders?

There is no 'rule of thumb'. It's preference. I try to keep the title at 60 characters or less. The description I keep at 2 or 3 sentences.

You don't want to have a long title stuffed with keywords. Short and sweet is your best bet.
