....bought them out, has anyone else been experiencing problems like email forwarders, auto responders, and scripts not working? Every other day there has been some problem and would like to know if people experience similar problems if you are on one of Interland servers?

Thanks,
WW

Hey Cathee!!!

Yuppers. There have been a lot of intermitent problems, especially concerning email, with the accounts I have at Interland.

Back when CT got gobbled up by Interland, I found an alternative hosting solution, which I then presented to my clients, giving them the choice to have me move them or not.

Almost all those that elected to stay, have since elected to move. I now have only a few remaining accounts at Interland and I'll bet that they move in the near future as well.

Our client who is on Interland has been experiencing email problems lately. Is there a general problem with Interland and email? This is our largest client, and they've been considering moving for some time.

I used to have Colocation with Dialtone. When Interland bought Dialtone out they closed the colo section so I was forced to move my servers (turned out to be extremely lucky for me).

I've toured the new Interland facility in Miami, and though the setup is nice, their management doesn't seem to know what they're doing.

They have cheap bandwidth providers (Cogent mostly) and their network has packet loss and latency problems.

I'd move anything I had with them out ASAP.

CommuniTech.Net was having support and sales difficulties before Interland brought them up. If you visit a few well known web hosting forums, you can get a pretty good picture.

I also think using cogent is acceptable if they were also multi-homed with other carriers. This way, packets could be rerouted when the cogent line went down.

hmmm. I disagree with the support/sales problems. I was with CT since 1998. Never a problem at all except for a very occassional one. Even at that, always quick to respond and a phone call away.

NOW, with Interland, there have been numerous problems in a short time. I have one site left with them and will be moving it to "my" server soon.

...their network has packet loss and latency problems.

I can't believe they still have this issue!~

I know a guy that used Interland in Atlanta, and had to drop them because of the latency and dropped packet problems. This was several years ago...the dropped packets were causing lost sales, etc.

The guy decided to switch hosts, after the tech support wanted to perform a trace route back to him!~ He quickly let them know, the issue was within their network, not from the outside. Apparently an interior router was consistently dropping packets...
