My hosting company just switched over from .log files (which they used to keep monthly and now keep only daily) to awstats.txt file for the monthly reports.

I was using 123loganalyzer program to "read" the .log files which was great, quick and easy. But now, these awstats reports only come in text.
Does anyone know either of a program that can decipher this text or where I can learn how to read this text?

Thanks in advance

Hmmmm...

I am a bit confused with this. Do they then email you this file?

I use awstats myself right now, (would love to find an asp solution) on a windows server for myself and my hosting clients.

It is a perl script that parses the logs and creates a text file. That test file can then be read by the script and it will write that info to a browser page.

You may want to check with your webhost, as they may actually support that, you may just need the actual url from your host.

Universal, thanks for your note. Yes, it was confusing. For years I just downloaded the logs and reviewed them. But, as things do, they changed.

They actually implemented their own log analyzer which makes the entire process easier for me but at the time that I wrote the note on this forum they were "in the midst" of the switch.

It's all been cleared and I'm loving the new format!

Thanks for your time though!
