Web Designer Needs "Help"

http://www.davidairey.com/google-sea...y-david-airey/

Okay; I wanted to post David's problem in here because I don't feel he is being helped real well at other places, and even in his own blog.

MOST all comments I see about this problem are of the notion that somehow Google is a bad girl, etc for doing something about websites who buy and sell links with the intention of doing better in the Google "organic" listings.

David; please take this in the spirit it is intended as this place really tries to help people understand and "get it". You are "very" young and probably kind of starting out in design, etc. You simply have been reading at the very wrong places. For instance:

http://forums.digitalpoint.com/forumdisplay.php?f=58

You stated that you read in there and even posted/advertised your "text link selling" to other members to help them "boost" their ranks in Google.

A clear No-No David.

You write about the GooglePlex in another article on your website, so this is not like you didn't have any idea that Google does not like sites who sell links because of Google.

You got many other responses at sphinn from members who think Google is a very bad girl as well:

http://sphinn.com/story/6899

Ironically; Danny Sullivan made one of TWO posts in all those comments that you should read and follow to a tee. ONE other comment in that thread is useful... by w3 something. Believe me David, anyone can tell you I'm not a fan of Danny Sullivan but his comments are VERY true in there.

Like I said; I only want members "in here" to help you. I actually doubt your penalty is from the actual selling of the 4 links, but is probably something else entirely. You need to read ALL the Google guidelines totally and understand them. They are VERY clear. They are very much a step by step tutorial from Google on how to do well with them.

If you think about it... real hard. Google has "adwords" that is pay per click. They have the organic listings which are "FREE". They are separated on the front page. Why would Google or any search engine worth a damn want to reward websites just because they can buy a link on another site? They wouldn't David. With that in mind, why would you be hanging out at the digitalpoint forums, which is a very known spammers haven? It's full of link mongers and clueless site owners who are trying to make a buck by buying and selling links, etc. You should truly know better than to hang around at places like that.

Anyway; I want members in here to help David. I want us to review his site totally and come up with what may be problems, etc.

This stuff like "google is bad", etc are NOT helpful. I'm so sick of seeing those types of comments out there. It's got to stop.

Buying and selling links for the purpose of manipulating free listings in Google is search engine spam. No where in the history of Google have they said to try your best to manipulate their SERPS. Link buying is something that could destroy Google and make way for another search engine to take it's place. Google has a responsibility to it's share holders and to it's employees to keep being very relevant and being the best. If it all the sudden just didn't care, how long would Google be the best?

If it was so easy to get on the front page of Google as to simply buy up links; wouldn't ALL businesses with the biggest pockets be the first ten results for EVERY search term on Google?

Let's help David everyone.
