IonicRewriter

Hi folks, long time no see and all that.

I recently converted a client's site to php. At the same time he changed his host to company using a windows server. The problem I encountered was that the .htaccess file didn't work.

The guy running the hosting server used a programme called IonicRewrite to achieve the result I needed (redirecting the non www domain and redirecting old .htm requests to the new .php).

Does anyone know this redirecting method and more importantly is anyone aware of any negative consequences with regards to search engines?

Your thoughts are appreciated.
