Site Submission Softwares

Hello All,

I have about 10 clients(different websites) I really don't want to go to every search engine and submit the clients site individually (thats about 100 forms for just 10 engines).

Mu question is, do you guys recommend any site submission service that can help me propoerly submit the sites to the search engines and maintain the status for me. I saw a program at http://www.trellian.com/. I tried it out, but i don't know if I can trustthem.

I do know I have to submit the sites to Yahoo individually, but any sugesstions will be appreciated.

Thanks

Welcome to the forums african!

If you get the sites into Yahoo and also Looksmart, there should be no need to submit to any others. The spiders will find the sites anyway.

Submission is a bad over hype out there. Get the sites optimized and ready, then get them into the directories, then sit back and be patient. No software or submission needed.

I need to add that you could submit the sites the way they are, but it probably will not do you much good. They do need to be ready.

Never resubmit to the engines as long as the spiders come after the first time.

My fear is that all my sites have been built dynamically. How would these spiders index the site.

More info? Read every post in every one of the forums here. That would be the best way. Lots of good info in here.

If the sites are dynamically generated then you will have a tough time no matter what you do. Google is getting much better at crawling those kind. If you can get rid of the ? marks, you would be better off. Or, make some static pages in each site that the spiders can crawl.

HI African and welcome to the forums:

I think there are really two seperate subjects here we need to discuss:

1.Getting your pages optimized so that the spiders can read them and the SEs will rank them well.

2.Submitting the sites to the Search engines, checking the rankings and reporting to your clients what you have achieved for them.

If you can give us a link to one of your sites we could give you some specific advice, but that already given regarding making sure the spiders can read you dymanically generated pages is most important.

Secondly when you get your pages ready then you need to submit them, check them and report to your clients how well they are doing.

You will have to bite the bullet and do manual submissions to both Yahoo and Looksmart to make sure you are being submitted to the right category and have proposed a title and description that they may accept. I would be very hesitant to outsource this work to a third party unless they were very reputable (which usually also means expensive).

A good Looksmart listing may often be reflected in a good Google listing, which in turn will get you a Yahoogle listing, so that's my personal one shot preference.

As regards the checking and reporting there are acouple of programs that will help you with that:

WebPosition ****
Top Dog

Both offer good rank checking and reporting facilities.

Here's a link: http://www.lamokad.com

I used coldfusion (using fusebox methodology). So for example, all my pages exist as an html page somewhere and all i have to do is call the page when requested through the main index.cfm page using case statements.

The only static page is the main page. Is that ok? I will look into the softwares.

Okay. First, you absolutely need more content on the front page. You also need some regular html links at the bottom leading into the site. These make it easy for the spiders to follow.

Your title needs help. Your name should be at the end of it as your most important keyword phrases should be first.

Read the forums real well.

Welcome african!

One other item of import that you will see often in these forums is "choosing the right keywords/phrases" and the general consensus is that the tool of choice here is: www.wordtracker.com.

And yes! It may take some time but DO read ALL the posts here and you will gain so much knowledge you will be surprised.
